Staying Connected and Working.
Not everyone can work during this recovery, so if you can, figure out your options before setting the date. Talk with your boss and the Human Resources Team to make a plan. And if you can’t work, maybe you will have options like temporary disability or other benefits that your HR Department knows about. Just be sure your health insurance premiums will be maintained.
Attitude is everything. If you can’t work, find ways to talk to and see others to keep your spirits up. Even if you can work, the limitations to your normal routine will be frustrating.
Explore the places where you typically type on a keyboard, like your cell phone, social media pages, or maybe it’s Word or Outlook, or Teams for work, or hobbies. Most current applications can do speech-to-text, and it will take just a bit of practice to get good at it.
Fun fact: When I started exploring how to use speech-to-text, I quickly discovered I needed to go to the Microsoft site to get help with the commands it used. Because Microsoft is an international company, the default language was not English but Bulgarian, so be sure to scroll down to check the appropriate box to get the language that you prefer.
